With its charming decor and cozy atmosphere, Matuka Lodge provided a delightful setting for senior travelers like myself. The lodge's warm and inviting common areas were beautifully decorated, making it a pleasure to relax and socialize with other guests. The lodge's accessibility features, such as ramps and wide corridors, made it easy for me to navigate the premises comfortably. It was wonderful to feel completely at ease in a hotel that catered to the needs of senior guests.
I would have appreciated if the children working there were a bit more attentive and proactive in catering to the needs of senior guests like myself.

Wonderful hosts, knowledgeable about the region. Delicious breakfast and homemade treats. Stunning views, ducks and ducklings swimming in front of the room. Well-equipped and comfortable rooms.

The Deluxe Super King Room at Matuka Lodge was like a dream come true. The double spa bath and shower provided the ultimate relaxation after a long day. I felt like royalty! Being fully insulated, the room kept me cozy during the winter season. No need to worry about the cold! The lodge's cool ambiance during the summer was a refreshing escape from the heat.
Personally, I found the karaoke room a bit cheesy, but hey, to each their own! Some might enjoy it.

We recently stayed at Matuka Lodge for a few nights and it was absolutely perfect. From the extraordinary scenery, delicious breakfast, and comfortable room, everything exceeded our expectations. Jo, our host, was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The complimentary bottle of wine and the cozy lounge with a 24/7 fire were wonderful touches. We can't wait to return to this amazing place!
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The views of the lake were stunning, and I loved watching the ducks. The breakfast, homemade by the hosts, was delicious and the communal dining experience was enjoyable. The hosts made me feel welcome and at ease throughout my stay.
Nothing I didn't like to be fair.

Finally, a place that exceeded my high standards! Relaxing atmosphere, delectable breakfasts, and Jo & Peter were such a bother, I mean, hospitable hosts. Can't wait to squeeze in another visit!
Oh, what a shame. I just couldn't find a single thing to criticize.

My stay at this lovely lodge was truly exceptional. The entire atmosphere was warm and welcoming, just like visiting family. The tasteful decoration throughout the lodge made it feel cozy and comfortable, which was perfect for a senior like me. I especially enjoyed the accessibility of the general areas, with everything conveniently located and easy to navigate. It felt like they truly understood the needs of senior guests.
I could not have asked for a better vacation! The only thing I could wish for is more assistance from the children working there.

We hit up the 8 section bike trail and it was insane! The mix of on and off-road terrain was a blast, and the views of the Southern Alps and the Pacific Ocean were wicked. And dude, playing golf with the snow-covered Alps as our backdrop was epic! It felt like playing in a movie. And let me tell you, Lake Pukaki was like a legit gem in the middle of the mountains. So stunning!
Only thing is, if you're a young party animal like us, the Twizel Frisbee Golf course could use a bit more wildness. It was fun, but we were hoping for some extra thrill and excitement.

The owners, Jo and Pete, were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. They made us feel right at home.
Felt like our own home, with the owners going above and beyond to ensure our comfort.

The hosts were so cool and made us feel like part of the gang. The luxurious house was the perfect base for our epic adventures. We hit up the 8 section bike trail and it was sick! Riding through crazy terrain from the Southern Alps to the Pacific Ocean was like being in a rad action movie. We also played golf with the insane backdrop of snow-covered mountains. Matuka Lodge was the ultimate teenage hangout!
The only bummer was that there wasn't a super happening nightlife scene within walking distance. We had to rely on the awesome hosts to give us a ride to the village for some party vibes.

Matuka Lodge was a sanctuary of peace and tranquility, perfect for a senior getaway. The beautiful decor and cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home. The spacious lounge and deck provided stunning views of the surrounding landscape, which were a delight to soak in. The lodge's accessibility for senior people was commendable, with easy access to all areas and comfortable facilities.
Just one small suggestion to make the vacation even better for senior people would be for the children working there to offer assistance with carrying luggage.

I had the most incredible stay at a luxury B&B near Mount Cook Village. The hosts were welcoming and made me feel right at home. After a tiring day of hiking, they served me a refreshing cup of tea in my beautifully appointed room overlooking a serene pond. The bed was unbelievably comfortable and I slept like a baby. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I will definitely be recommending this hidden gem to all my friends and family. I can't recommend this B&B enough.
